Developmental Baby Massage is a unique form of baby massage that combines massage and movement to encourage and support babies through the natural steps and stages of their development.  It offers a wide range of benefits to both babies and parents, which include:
 
  • Helping babies to develop flexible and healthy joints which assists them through the physical stages of development such as sitting and standing;
  • Helping postural development;
  • Deepening baby’s breathing rhythm, thereby maximising the oxygen available to them;
  • Aiding digestion, easing colic, wind, reflux and constipation;
  • Promoting overall relaxation and sounder sleep;
  • Keeping babies’ skin smooth and supple through the use of oil on the skin;
  • Boosting circulation;
  • Decreasing the production of stress hormones;
  • Improving the immune system;
  • Encouraging confidence and relaxation in baby/parent relationships;
  • Helping mums to recover from postnatal depression through touch contact with their babies.
 
I was trained by Peter Walker, the man responsible for Developmental Baby Massage.  Massage is available as a one-to-one session in the comfort of your own home or as a group.  Group sessions are held in Central Ely.
 
The cost is £35 per person for a 5 week course or £15 per private home visit.
